Introduction

We are excited to announce Adelaide will play host to the 58th annual Australian Freshwater Sciences Society (AFSS) (formerly the Australian Society for Limnology) congress, September 23-28, 2018.

Freshwater Science is key to understanding and managing our rivers, lakes and wetlands globally, providing for their many uses as well as supporting functional, healthy ecosystems for generations to enjoy.

The Australian Freshwater Sciences Society congress brings together experts from across Australia and around the world in all disciplines of Freshwater Science, presenting the most up to date research, management and policy initiatives. The scientific program will be based around the theme Freshwater Science Making a Difference: Innovation, Implementation and Communication.  The Conference will be of interest to a wide range of scientists, managers and communicators.

We look forward to discussing all things Freshwater in September, in the picturesque setting of Glenelg Beach. Other highlights will include post conference fieldtrips to some of the most important freshwater systems in Australia.
